Secondary School Support Programme

Until the last election in Zambia, families have had to pay for their children to attend secondary school.  The good news is that the Government have now abolished the school fee system and all children can now attend school free of charge. School attendance significantly increases the life chances in terms of future development and ability to access further education, which leads to better employment.

We, at the Wynaud Trust, are committed to working in partnership with the school and the community to assist families and children living in severe poverty to attend school. For approximately £8 per term we provide support for the provision of school uniform, text books, exercise books and other essentials for the children living in poverty to thrive in their studies..

In 2022 the Trust is currently supporting 23 children in Kabulamema, 102 children in the village of Mumbeji and 20 children at a school on the edge of Kabompo. We are always looking for sponsors to support these children.

Sponsorship changes lives and opens up opportunites for both the students and the families they are part of. It costs just £24 per year to pay for a child to be supported at school . We have a long waiting list of pupils in need of sponsorship.
