For many years families had to pay for their children to attend secondary school. The Government has now abolished the school fee system, and as a result all children are able to attend, irrespective of their family circumstances. The change in policy has led to large class sizes and has meant that schools struggle to provide resources and accommodation. The school support programme helps the most vulnerable children by providing uniform, text books, exercises books and other materials.
The Trust is committed to working in partnership with the school and the community to assist families and children living in poverty to attend school.
It costs about £10 per term to provide the essential resources to enable children to participate and thrive in their studies.
Sponsorship opens up opportunities for both students and the families they are part of. It costs just £30 per year to pay for a child to be supported at school. We have a long waiting list of pupils in need of sponsorship.
