The Wynaud Trust works in the Kabomo district, Northwest province, Zambia. This is a rural area, where the majority of the population are subsistence farmers. There is significant hardship and the trust seeks to work in three areas: education, health and income generation.
Supporting education provides access to future life opportunities. The Trust supports local schools to make a difference. The Trust provides scholarships for higher education and seeks to encourage training in practical skills, which can then be used to benefit the community. A school support programme enables young people living in significant poverty to remain in Secondary School and complete their education. Early years and Adult education provision is also provided.
Medical facilities are limited in rural Zambia, and it is often difficult to access proper care. The Trust seeks to encourage people to use the available health facilities and provides resources, advice and training.
