The Trust is supported by two Doctors, one of whom is a trustee. The quality of healthcare and access is a problem for many. Our aim is to work with the District Health Authority and local clinics to improve health outcomes for the community.
The Trust has provided medical equipment, such as blood pressure machines, diabetes testing kits and blood testing equipment. We also have supported the development of facilities. This has enabled the medical staff to diagnose conditions at an earlier stage. Training has been provided on various topics and thIs will be ongoing, working with staff to support their development.
Supporting education in the community is also a priority, with advice on nutrition, for example, which can have significant benefits. We encourage check ups and inoculation programmes and are worklng with staff to establish good practice. Significant outcomes have been achieved, for example the provision of ‘bounty bags’ for pregnant women, has improved clinic attendance and reduced neo-natal deaths.
