Adult literacy and numeracy
Teaching adults to improve lives
The Trust has employed a teacher to assist adults with literacy and numeracy. It is not that community members lack aptitude, but have not been able to take advantage of education opportunities. In fact, many of the community speak numerous African languages, but cannot read. Being able to read has a significant impact.
Teaching with passion
The teacher employed is very experienced and passionate about helping adults to develop. We observed approximately 30 adults absorbed in learning and enjoying working together.
This programme not only helps the adults but enables them to help their children.
Requested support
The facilities enable adults to learn but more resources would make a difference. We have provided funds for adult chairs and tables. Textbooks and other learning material has been requested.
